Puakea Golf Club 10.6.1

Puakea Golf Club, designed by architect Robin Nelson, is an accessible public course offering daily fee play. The course exhibits resort-quality standards and is situated on over 200 acres of historic land that was once a sugar cane plantation.

The course has received recognition from Sports Illustrated, which listed it among the "Top 10" nine-hole facilities in the United States in its October 27, 1997 edition. The publication highlighted Puakea's dramatic landscape, noting the panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and the terrain featuring volcanic cliffs, large ravines, sinkholes, and vibrant tropical foliage.

In early 2003, Puakea underwent construction to add an additional eight holes, temporarily closing the course for this upgrade. It reopened on July 1, 2003, with an expanded 18-hole layout, complemented by a new driving range, putting green, and a spacious short-game practice area.

Throughout these developments, Puakea has maintained a reputation for delivering high-quality "Kauai-style" customer service. The course was ranked as the 7th best in Hawaii by Golfweek in 2008, reflecting its standing within the local golf community.
